This video focuses on some common valid and invalid argument forms, and some strategies for determining the validity or invalidity of an argument. This video anticipates later focus on more technical methods of determining validity. Although Stan Baronett's "Logic" (2nd ed.) is the textbook followed for all the relevant videos posted here, for the most part, the concepts and skills presented are the same as other critical thinking textbooks, e.g., Hurley and Copi/Cohen. Differences are almost entirely stylistic, not substantive.
