Level 2 - The Survivors

The only difference is how empty each place was. There were no crawling sounds in the vents. There were no monsters in the hallways. There was nothing. You started to become more nervous, feeling as if something more dangerous was killing these monsters. You start to hesitate each step, being more aware of your surroundings. After about a few minutes of walking around, you hear a crowd of footsteps approaching you. You start to slowly walk back into the previous hallway. Your heart beats rapidly as the noise becomes increasingly louder. You turn around quickly and speed walk back. Suddenly, the sounds off quiet conversations become noticeable in the crowd. You look back at the end of the hallway to see a large group of people with spears approaching you. It seems like the man in front is the leader of the group. They approach you slowly as you slowly walk back. They stop around a few feet in front of you. “Are you lost?”, the leader asks. You slowly nod your head. “Do you think we should show him to a safe area?”, one of the people in the group asks. The leader looks at him for a second. “Maybe”, he says. He approaches you slowly. “Do you want to stay in this area, or do you want to leave? We have a safe place we can take you if you don’t want to risk going into another level.”, the leader explains. You look around the group. Some stare at you while others talk to each other, each having different conversations. You say that you’d like to exit this area before something bad happens. The leader nods. “We’ll guide you to the exit, but know that the next level is dangerously harder”. He pulls out a small spear from his backpack and gives it to you. “Here”, he says. “Keep this on your journey. It’s not much, but it’s just so you can protect yourself”. He holds out his hand. “My name is Austin. And yours?” He smiles with his hand still extended outwards. You lift your hand to shake his and say your name. Welcome to the Survivors.
