Like a Tree EP

This is an experimental EP I've been working on with 5 tracks: 0:00 - Branches and Leaves 3:02 - After 4:51 - Crooked Twigs 8:42 - Firestorm 10:06 - Through the Ages For a long time I'd just do instrumental music only, but I'm trying to experiment around with vocals and finding a sound that works. Riffs and melodies in some of these songs are borrowed ideas from years ago when I originally came up with them, but this is putting them to use. I can't say for sure what genre this would fall under, but I would guess progressive rock/nu-metal. "Crooked Twigs" Days go on by; I've lost count Frozen rigid silence Present absence, lifeless life Colors washed out, no vibrance I feel the inverse of a gift, my special curse Hello oblivion, welcoming the undone Hanging on a thread Petrified and brittle My hands resemble the dead what crooked twigs mean so little Crisp air flows so thin dormant in this mannequin I stay still within, dying just to live again Too much coverage to take in the sun's rays A sharpened edge, the hollowed heart displays Nights last all day, and all week Someone...anyone out there?
