Linked dipole Antenna

I have miised a few videos over Christmas, good intentions but we were busy in the store. We have been making stock linked dipoles and purpose made dipoles for a long time. The linked dipoles are my favourite antenna for POTA and for Field Days as they are resonant and pre-set so very quick to set up. My experience has suggested that a resonant dipole out performs EFHW and Random wire antennas (although I use them as well). For a home brew antenna banana plugs work, as do aligator clips. For commercial antennas we use gold plated connectors but that makes it more expensive. Setting the SWR is very time consuming and to fabricate a 5 band special order antenna we find it takes about 4 hours of adjusting. Also keep in mind that the height of the balun and the height of the wire above the ground definitely affects the SWR. The higher the better.
