Written during a really tough bout of depression, this song is about feeling so terrible and unable to accept kindness from others that when your dearest friends try and reach out to you, your reaction is not a feeling of relief and gratefulness that you have them--instead it's a wish that you'd hidden more effectively, and a need to disappear as completely as possible. It's feeling incredibly alone and knowing that you've done it to yourself, despite others' attempts to get through--that feeling of not being deserving enough for friendship or kindness or love.
