Liverpool Garbage

One past video of mine I was never satisfied with was Liverpool Garbage, the 1 of 2 which features a pair of Iveco side loaders. I just didn’t capture decent footage of the red bin service and respective trucks at the time... in fact a Liverpool description of mine reads “I’ll be returning for better footage of a garbage truck, as the video I have sucks”. Indeed I did so only recently, allowing me to create this presentation! I’m very overdue to upload a video of a Richards side loader, and I think this latest shoot of mine was the easy choice to provide some comeback entertainment. I’ll also note the driver on show is another of the guys who once shared videos of garbage trucks here on YouTube and is now engaged in the job steering them, no doubt very chuffed to be onboard with JJ Richards today years later. Let me say it doesn’t get any easier sourcing the action for these videos when it’s operators you know and/or those who are very excited about the attention. I revisited this council in October 2019 when I had to attend something work related nearby, thus I took the opportunity to catch up with Sean driving unit 8834 over in West Hoxton on a Friday morning. Learning later he was assigned a different truck permanently and me once again not completely content with what I had, I passed through just weeks ago in August 2020 to grab additional clips of unit 8896 on the job in Moorebank on a Monday. Much like the earlier video I put up, we see two of the original red scheme garbage trucks doing the weekly household waste pickup in Liverpool... it works out 8834 featured in that earlier post as well! As for the Liverpool collection contract, JJ Richards has been doing all the bin services there since 2009 and were just awarded another contract term with the council to commence in 2021. The current equipment is pretty aged now, looking different from the sharp and fresh machinery I remember 10 years ago in this location, but all soon to be replaced by a new generation of Volvo FE compactors.
