LMMS Xpressive 4-Bit PCM Vocal Sample Test.
LMMS has a built-in instrument named Xpressive, which generates audio by evaluating time-domain mathematical expressions. All Xpressive instruments are therefore mathematical functions. This was an early attempt last year to 'sample' 4-bit audio and convert it to ternary Xpressive expressions. The initial concept was created in MATLAB and converted to C++. The vocals are from a 45 year old Heaven 17 single.
The piano is original by myself.
After many tests, I have created a cross-platform GUI in C++ at https://github.com/ewanp2025/XpressiveTools to automate these functions.
