Logistics 2040 Sprint

The Logistics Futures Design Sprint is an effort focused on answering two Logistics Executive Board action items rooted in Barrier Analysis findings for 2021 (Minority groups and female populations decline as rank increases). Phase one of this effort was focused on providing a clearer picture of the current state of the logistics environment from the perspective of the logistician. Ethnographic research and interviews were conducted to gain insight and build personas and narratives for further development in phase three. The Logistics Advisory Council (LAC) was identified as a strategic forum to execute phase two, futures design. This phase of the design process was focused on painting a clearer picture of “best case” futures and “worst case” futures. It should be noted, the LAC agenda allowed a dedicated 120 minutes, with more time the design team would have expanded the futures scope to also define best and worst case scenarios for “business as usual.” Insights from phase two, along with phase one, will be used to further define the “preferable future” the logistics enterprise wishes to pursue along with aiding in action plans that will be developed in phase three.
