I play Live Techno using Ableton Push 3 in Stand Alone mode. Each channel is treated as a custom built instrument and is played Live using Midi controllers.
I improvise a lot and just follow the flow of the music, I never know what will happen & I just surf the loops as they form. I used to play hardware instruments but got sick of the cost, complexity and risk of damage.
