Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) Advantage is a package of three essential end-user services (Deep Learning, Names & Role Provisioning Services and Assignment & Grade Services) that build on LTI 1.3 Core. Together, these implement features that support key teaching and learning activities. Since its original publication in May 2019, LTI Advantage has become established as one of IMS's most successful specifications. Currently, there are 90 LTI Advantage certified products, 60 of which support the LTI 1.3 Core and all three of the end-user services. One of the major improvements in LTI 1.3 is usage of a more robust security architecture, using the widely adopted third-party standards of Open ID Connect and OAuth 2, and simplification of the registration of Tools with Platforms based on multi-tenanted deployment. LTI certification has been improved through the provision of a new LTI Advantage Reference Implementation. Blackboard is one of the major LTI Platform vendors that uses LTI Advantage: the Blackboard technical staff have been involved in the development of LTI since its original inception in 2006. During this session participants will get insights into the steps that Tool vendors need to undertake for successful integration with LTI Advantage compliant Platforms. Key insights will also be given on the integration issues that are specific to a Platform. Speakers --Scott Hurrey, Head of Developer Relations, Blackboard --Eric Preston, Blackboard
