I wrote this song to a production by Sense of Humor aka Lupe Fiesta. It's not the final cut, but it seems apropriate to share with anyone who follows my music. More sounds and vizuals to come:) I also want to dedicate this to my cousin who passed away last week, he will be missed. Eyesrvivedmrdr Ism A while ago I made a promise to myself I wouldn’t ask for help No matter how bad it felt to lose the hand I held/ I dealt with demons even when I had no soul to sell I said I’m leaving and I’m never going back to hell/ I’m not retreating I know what I believe in Doesn’t matter what you’re thinking, I’ma keep on being me/ Breathing and healing my heart is still beating feeling alive not taking my time I’m speeding more than a mile in a minute into infinite I’m taking a dive/ Splash, making a fast dash for the future Ditching the past I’m not looking back I’m sure the feeling is mutual/ Don’t take it so personal I know that it’s hurtin you no one is perfect But life is a circle and this is a miracle, critical spiritual happening/ huh I woke up with a halo above my head I guess this means I’m dead Red roses on my bed a crown of thorns made of stems/ I never wrote a note, now so much is left unsaid… I only dreamt of you while I slept/ Please leave me in peace while I try to piece the picture Everything was so oblique after drinking all that liquor/ Bleeding all that blood I thought that I would get better But love’s a hell of a drug, instead I drifted into forever/ Several cries when I severed ties, just dreadful lies from empty eyes Now here I lye trapped inside my mind/ Deep in the abyss of oblivion Just give me a kiss and maybe we can live again/ I’ll be your prince; you’ll be my damsel in distress But now instead of wearing all white you have on a black dress/ No regrets, in this game there’s no reset Just understand everyone dies in the end.
