M60

Pig in a blanket: Saco style! So one of my animation goals this year was to attempt the bane of all viewmodel animators: The belt-fed machine gun. Luckily for me, @Gonzalezrei made by job a bit easier by suggesting the iconic M60. I love me some Cold War era boomsticks and nothing puts out more booms than the ravenous pig. Now I'm going to be honest and say that I hadn't the foggiest idea on how to actually rig a belt-fed machine gun, at least 'properly.' So I just opted to Child Of a bunch of bullets together and chain them from the receiver to the box mag. It worked out a bit better than I expected, but eek to my performance. Otherwise, this was just a mix of trying to do a stylized M60, and getting some fun belt-fed reload out of my system that I've been wanting to do for like 3 years now. Not at all realistic, but fun nonetheless. The empty was inspired by the FM 2013 tactical from Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, which you can see here, presented by Weapons From Games: https://youtu.be/HtSAWp_DsJI?t=348 And the tactical was inspired by the Crysis 2/3 armor mode tactical reload for the MK60 MOD 0, presented here by Tigerfield: https://youtu.be/guIS_N7JZmk?t=584 Made in Blender 4.0 and rendered at 60 FPS in Cycles with 250 samples and a noise threshold of 0.01. And the song is "C'mon C'mon" by Rockin' For Decades and published to Epidemic Sounds. You can't have a 'nam era earthquake gun without some sick strings and percussion! After the last two animations, I need something a bit simple. Fortunately, I've got a good community request up next for a wicked single shot, so I'll see you soon. Otherwise have a good one!
