Macedonia Greece 🇬🇷

This is a compilation of videos I shot in the Macedonia region of Greece. The mountain you see at the beginning is Olympus. The area I am filming from is Pieria which is the next mountain range from Olympus. The village with the sounds of the church is also in Pieria. I recorded when the church was in process. Every night at about 7:30, there is a service for two weeks leading up to the Aug. 15 Virgin Mary holiday. You can hear the chants throughout the village. It's beautiful ❤️ The dancing is Pontic and recorded at a glendi in Katerini. Survivors from the Pontic genocide, a little over a hundred years ago, settled in Northern Greece. They preserve their music, dance, language, food, and culture today. The museum is the White Tower Museum in Thessaloniki. I also have videos here of the surrounding area in Thessaloniki.
