This is a small demonstration of how a MagLev hover disk would work. It is a very simple disk made of clear poly carbonate that has eight rare Earth disc magnets pressed into it. I have used some spare parts from my DJI Flamewheel F550 drone in this demonstration. The motor is very small but it rotates at a very high RPM. About half power will hold the disk floating about 1/2" above the copper plate. The greater the speed to the motor, the stronger the lift! The force is very strong with these spinning magnet wheels and they can bear quite a bit of load. The better quality of the neodymium magnets (N52 Class) the better it functions. This effect can be scaled to size. See completed hovercraft vehicle here!
