MAJOR Combine Repairs!!
Do you guys remember the machine shed door that has been laying on the ground for what seems like forever? We have good news! We are finally getting around to fixing it and putting it back on the big machine shed. We stripped all the bad components off the door and then took inventory of what we needed and ordered everything to put it back together. Once we got to a standstill on the door, we ran into the location of an auction Dad went to and picked up a few items he purchased. Yes, Dad bought more augers. The first trip, we decided our trailer was too short for the augers we purchased, so we had to run back to the main farm to get the 1981 International Transtar 4300. After we got the auction stuff home, I got a call from my sister asking if I would cut down a tree for her and Daddy Cornstar went to work in the main heated shop to get the combine out. I got the tree cut down with no issues and Daddy Cornstar got the 2003 Case IH 2388 combine out, and hooked onto the corn head. Dad ran into several issues when trying to get the combine out. Some of these issues included: the Oliver 1950 would not start, the 2005 Hagie STS10 would not start, and he had to clean up a lot of trash in the shop. The next morning Daddy Cornstar takes everyone on a little adventure highlighting was he is about to do over the next couple days. Our Case IH 2208 corn head needs to be rebuilt so we are putting on a Calmer Corn Head rebuilt kit and are very excited to try it out. We highlight the rebuilding process as we go and show case a few of the troubles we ran into along the way.
