Make a Decade Resistance Box for Under $15

Here's a simple decade resistance box that can be made for under $15. The switches are under $10 and the resistors are under $5. About half an hour of soldering is all it takes. I found that with seven decades the parasitic resistance was around 1.4ohms. Keep in mind that this decade resistance box is not intended for high power or high precision applications. You will need better switches for that, and they wont be cheap.
