Make a Mini Hovercraft - Friction Demonstration

This CD hovercraft moves because air is blown from the balloon under the CD. A layer of air separates the CD and table reducing the friction between the two. The CD glides smoothly over the table/floor. A real hovercraft has a powerful fan that pumps air under it. The hovercraft then floats on top of the water. Hovercrafts use less fuel than a traditional boat of the same size and can move faster.
