At Little Wars TV we use these maps for wargames, but the same technique seen here can work for any map you have in mind ranging from historical to fantasy.
DISCLAIMER: Microsoft Paint was not designed for map making...frankly, it wasn't designed to do any project at this level of complexity. Buying Adobe Photoshop or learning to use GIMP will save you many hours of tedious work. Proceed with MS Paint only if you are too cheap and too lazy to use a better software. Like me.
