My friend has a small business selling candles and earrings etc ( www.oredesignco.com ) and wanted me to build a folding display stand/plinth to take to markets to sell candles etc from.
I designed a simple system for a folding base that has registration points to lock the top into.
I made the whole stand from 2 sheets of 12mm ply and some lengths of pine.
She is going to paint the stand white and I am more than happy to pass on the painting to someone else!
