Making A Piper ID Holder!
Find the Piper ID holder pattern in our shop at https://lindshandmade.com This pattern is beginner friendly and the perfect scrap buster project that comes together super fast! I used a quilt cotton fabric interfaced with sf-101, and 12 gauge clear vinyl from Joanne fabrics. I am sewing on my domestic Juki tl-2000qi with a Tex 45 bonded polyester thread, size 100/16 needle. I’ve also made this holder using vinyl, cork and leather with great results as well so feel free to use your favorite materials and have fun with it! Unfortunately the breakaway clasps I used in this video are out of stock with no plans for a restock anytime soon. Two of my favorite hardware shops plan to carry some soon so be sure to check out Indolovekreation.shop and mojosew.com (They have generously offered a discount for my followers, use code "Linds10" at checkout) Here are the time stamps: 00:05 Intro & Bag Overview 00:42 The unique feature of this ID holder making it different from other patterns 01:14 Pattern pieces, interfacings, and hardware needed 02:13 Prepping a lanyard or wristlet strap using a 4-fold method 03:44 Completing a wristlet strap using the continuous loop method 07:05 Making a lanyard strap and why I recommend not doing the continuous loop method for this 11:20 Adding the lanyard hardware with and without a breakaway clasp 15:11 Adding zipper tabs to the zipper 15:40 Creating the interior divider pocket 18:30 Installing the zipper to the front portion of the pouch 20:18 Creating the ID window 26:40 Sewing the divider pocket in place 28:39 Adding the d ring tab 29:28 Installing the zipper on the back portion 30:45 Sewing the perimeter of the pouch 33:23 Turning the pouch right side out 34:35 Using the interior divider to hide the raw edges 36:00 Adding the lanyard strap and done!
