Making a wooden digital clock
In this video I make a wooden LED digital clock using hand tools and a small drill press. The clock runs on an Arduino and uses an 16x9 LED panel for display and a real time clock to keep time. I've written an instructable to complement this video: https://www.instructables.com/id/Making-a-Wooden-LED-Clock/ This is a fairly simple physical electronics build. You only need to solder some wires together and solder the led breakout board to the LED grid, adafruit has good instructions for that: https://learn.adafruit.com/i31fl3731-16x9-charliplexed-pwm-led-driver/assembly . Power is provided via the usb cable. I used was a cheap 40W big box store soldering iron and it worked fine. All details for the circuit diagram and Arduino sketches including the animations are in the links below. Wood used is reclaimed Aussie hardwood.
