Making chopsticks using a home-built hand planing jig, along with a storage box made of Western Red Cedar. The chopstick blank holder in the jig is two-sided. One side has a flat recess for making a squared taper on 4 sides and the other side has a V profile for shaping the tips into a more rounded or octagonal shape. The blank holder is shimmed into position with wedges and is then secured with a couple of wood screws from the side. The outer sides of the jig are dimensioned with a rabbet slide to fit a hand plane.
