I had made mom's casket a few years ago then this past Christmas I started making a coffin for my dad. I finished it up with just a few days to spare before he past away. Along the journey of building this coffin I have had reflections on the things he has taught me and the influence he has had on my life.
He taught me how to work with my hands and build things. He worked as a Geologist, Professor, and Scientist. He served in the church in many positions including clerk, branch president, bishop, temple worker, and missionary.
I will miss having him around but happy to know that he and mom are together again.
