This video is about making Pure Vermont Maple Syrup the old fashioned way. We will boil maple sap from our maple grove and make pure Maple Syrup. Boiling with wood and canning right off the "Arch". We are located in Vermont where the winters are long, the summers short and Maple Pure. We have two seasons here in Vermont, winter and the 4th of July. In this segment we will explore the boiling and canning or Vermont Maple Syrup. We will see how the Sugar house works and steps associated with making Pure Vermont Maple Syrup. The process is long and very labor intensive, but that is what makes it worth the journey. Maple Syrup has a side variety of uses, more than just a topper for pan cakes. Maple is used for candy, as sweetener for teas; Maple Syrup is great on toast, over hot cereal or cold cereal. Maple Syrup can be made into Maple butter which is a jelly like spreadable topper. Maple is great on ice cream can easily be used as a sugar replacement in recipes. Maple soda is simple just add a couple teaspoons to club soda. The list is as long as your imagination. Pure Vermont Maple Syrup is a more healthy choice than cane sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Very little processing is used in making Maple products; it is simply boiled down and filtered.
