Making Memory Work Flip Books DIY | Classical Conversations

In this video I detail how I make memory work flipbooks for classical conversations at home. The files for these flip books usually come from CC Connected (CCC) or you can screenshot images from CC's apps/tutorials. I describe how to make 3 different iterations: 00:30 1. My original home sewed flipbook, this is super easy for me to make and costs almost nothing. Just print from the photo viewer and add a page protector for the cover. 03:36 2. A laminated flipbook, this is basically just binding homemade flashcards into a book. Again, easy! You can use what you have at home, like a simple hole punch and binding ring. Print the images double or single sided, you decide. 05:10 3. My newest iteration: the bound version. This is basically my first idea and second idea combined into one. It is just a printed book with laminated cover and bound at the top instead of the side, just like any spiral notebook, but mini! I love making and using flip books for our foundations and essentials memory work at home, I use my foundations flipbook pretty much daily during the school year and I especially love using them when I lead review games either as a tutor or at home as a parent. I use my presidents flip book for just one week of the year, when we sing the president's song so that usually stays in the drawer. I use my Essentials of the English Language (EEL) 5th edition flip book at home as a quick and easy chart look up when we are in the thick of our lessons at home. I used my previous edition all the time, so I'm looking forward to this new version that actually will lay flat! I plan on using my timeline flipbook (07:44) just as a reference when I want to look up a quick fact or two about a time line event. I made it because I'm not very big on flashcards and like having all the weekly images on one page, so the total size is more manageable for me than buying all of the CC Classical Acts & Facts History cards (which take up 3 or 4 mini binders if you get them all!). Plus if we ever sing the song in its entirety, it's neat to flip through the book and be able to see all the color pictures in just one book. Enjoy being creative with your flip books at home!
