Vanilla Extract Recipe: 6-8 Vanilla Beans (per bottle) 8 ounces Bourbon or Vodka (per bottle) Take your 6-8 vanilla beans and slice them in half to expose all the vanilla bean pods. Place your vanilla beans into the bottles BEFORE adding the liquid. Add 8 ounces of alcohol to each bottle. Clean and close the lids on your bottles, be sure to shake the bottles atleast once a week, this will help those mix your vanilla extract better. You will need to leave your vanilla extract in the bottle for ATLEAST 5-6 months before using, this will give you the best vanilla flavor for any bakes you use it for in the future. This is a great recipe to use as a gift. Everyone loves a little Vanilla!
