This video shows the simulation of the air flow around a wing. This simulation was performed using a vintage Telefunken analog computer type RA 770 (the mathematical background can be found here: http://www.analogmuseum.org/english/examples/joukowski/). The y coordinate of the airfoil is changed manually during the simulation run - please note that the simulation takes place in real time - something like this was only possible using a sophisticated analog computer and only during the last couple of years have digital computers gained enough speed to match this.
