Marinating Deer Steak: I start the process with my frozen Deer steaks, so as it thaws it can absorb the flavor. I place the steaks in a Tupperware container and cover with buttermilk. The buttermilk removes so much of the gamey flavor. You can add any over flavoring you like at this time as well. Leave this to marinate in the fridge, for at least 8 hours. I season my steaks as I cook them in a skillet with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. I put rosemary and thyme in the pan with butter and oil, as they heat.
