Next we have the Marlin Model 28, a 12 gauge pump action shotgun made from 1913 to 1923 in New Haven Connecticut. This early production example made in 1914 sports a 30'' full choke barrel, a 5 round underbarrel tube magazine, and a takedown frame for easy storage and transport. Competition among firearm manufacturers just before World War I was fierce in the pump shotgun market and examples from Winchester, Remington, and Savage/Stevens made for some respectable stablemates. What set Marlin apart? Come along as we check out the gun, look over the patents, and have a great time examining the function and features of this shotgun and its close brothers and sisters.
