This is a haunting ballad about James Connolly who had been so badly injured in the 1916 Easter Rebellion that he was unable to stand before the firing squad. (Doctors said he had no more than two days to live.) He was carried to a prison courtyard on a stretcher & was tied to a chair and shot. This song is beautiful on it's own merit. It is from The Black Family which was released in 1995. If you still have your copy, hang onto it. It is almost as precious as gold.
