If you knew the ending from the start Would you treasure every word it took? Some say they'd want to know Prepare themselves, make plans But knowledge is a double-edged blade That cuts through empty hands There’s a doctor with a clipboard, Secrets written on his page Do you want the truth delivered, Or a life less staged? Every choice is like a doorway, Every answer cuts a line. If you knew what waits tomorrow, Would you live today in time? A balloon against a knife’s edge, Every breath a fragile glass. Counting seconds, counting footsteps, Waiting for the moment to pass. Some truths bless and some destroy you, Some you wish you never heard. Ignorance can be a mercy, Knowledge can be a fatal curse Foreknowledge doesn't save you It just steals the present away You're counting down instead of living Watching clocks instead of days Foreknowledge doesn't free you It writes the ending in your mind And every moment in between Becomes a countdown you can't rewind There's a comfort in uncertainty In not knowing what comes next Every sunrise feels like mercy When you haven't read the text But if you knew the hour and the how Would you love more or love less? Would you hold on tighter to the now Or prepare for the emptiness? Maybe ignorance isn't weakness Maybe knowing isn't wise Maybe the bravest thing we do Is love without a timeline in our eyes To hold someone without counting To be present, unaware To give ourselves completely Without knowing if they'll still be there A balloon against a knife’s edge, Every breath a fragile glass. Counting seconds, counting footsteps, Waiting for the moment to pass. Some truths bless and some destroy you, Some you wish you never heard. Ignorance can be a mercy, Knowledge can be a fatal curse #SciFi #ShortStories #BookSoundtrack
