A short experimental drama film by Leilea Jammali In a world where everyone seems to have naturally colourful facial patterns, Pearl does not. In an attempt to fit in, she painstakingly manufactures this look every day by applying face paint. When her paint smudges at a party, a friend, Poppy, reveals she, too, is wearing face paint. Pearl questions if everyone's face is truly natural - or perhaps she's not the only one camouflaging. This short film is based on my experiences as a neurodiverse teenage girl and masking to fit in with my peers, even when it cost my sense of identity. This project has been incredible to work on, and I am so grateful for everyone involved. I couldn't have done it without you! I'm so glad to be ending my college experience on such a high note. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow and sharing my filmmaking journey as I continue my studies in Bristol next September!
