This video is obsolete after the release of Max 7.2 because the "spigot~" object has been rendered un-necessary by the "jit.movie~" object. I'm leaving the video up for anyone using an older version of Max. Now that we have sound from the movie being sent to the spigot object, we can control the audio within the patch. But we can do so much more, so much more. We can actually use the sound level to drive and effect (meaning the louder the sound the greater the amount of the effect) by using the "avg~" object to convert sound into usable numbers. We have to scale the output to get it into a range that the effect (in this case, brcosa) and then decide which parameter to drive (we do brightness, then saturation). But of course, you could be driving just about anything so,.. be creative. Enjoy.
