Job satisfaction can be measured through an organizational development survey, but we have to remember that a survey is an indirect measurement. Since job satisfaction is an attitude, we can’t directly see or measure it.
We can experience only behaviors directly, not attitudes. We have to indirectly evaluate attitudes—we have to ask people about their attitudes. This is the primary reason why job satisfaction is so difficult to measure accurately. As a result of the inability to observe job satisfaction, we must rely on individuals to self-report their level of satisfaction.
