This is my first meeting with Murphy, a 7 year old QH gelding, who was trained on a ranch in Texas and purchased by a woman for a lesson and trail program. She contacted me about taking him for training and to sell after incidents of kicking and pulling back when tied. He just wasn't safe enough to be around the kids at her farm.
I hope she won't have to sell Murphy, and that we can help him shift from a reactive and potentially dangerous horse to the sweet, loving soul that lies beneath.
Murphy is "frozen" in his nervous system, and the techniques I include in the session help him to shift from a state of freeze (which can quickly turn into a fight/flight response) to a calm, relaxed state in which he feels confident and safe.
