MEGA SQUIRREL SPECIAL - All The Chases, Stomping & Chattering You Could Ever Want

It was a lovely late Spring morning today. The squirrel's were very lively hoping through the long grass. i wish the council would cut it. It is coming up towards 6 months since i started filming the squirrel's. As a bit of a pointer for viewer's from my observations, each visit to the park tends to follow the same patterns. I arrive & begin setting up for filming. Sometimes the squirrel's see me & come out to wait for breakfast, other times i can get all set up before they start appearing. You may have noticed that i tend to whistle quite a bit. It is to attract them as they have got to recognise my whistle. Plus it encourages them during the morning. Because of this they come from behind me as well as from the sides & front. Generally the first 40 minutes to an hour is dominated by the older & larger squirrel's. Younger & smaller squirrel's do come & try to get some food during this time, but are easily scared & bullied off by the more dominant squirrel's Even with the vast array of resources in front of them, their natural instincts are to try & prevent others from getting their share. After the first hour it really goes quiet for a time. The older & bigger squirrel's will still come out to get some more but it is far more easier paced than the first hour. During this slower period, the smaller & younger squirrel's tend to come out a bit more. Even with no competition they tend to be so nervous & scatty about approaching to get some food though.
