Melodic Contour Examples

In this video I will provide various melodic contour examples and the melodic contour definition. We will look at songs with a flat melodic contour (this is a melodic contour Taylor Swift is widely known for) in a section and a descending melodic contour in another section. Well also examine a song with a varied melodic contour in verses and then an ascending melodic contour in the pre-chorus. Describing melodic contour can be somewhat tricky without examples, so in this video I provide examples of both melodic contour and range variation from four different songs all by different songwriters.
