Memory Cells - Beyond The Pole
Memory Cells existed in Dublin between 1999 and 2002 and released two albums, one film with soundtrack and played two gigs, it's all a long time ago now. Only a small fraction of our music has ever been available to stream on YouTube so after the death of Anthony Carroll (1970-2024) I thought it was time to share it here in full. It's still as primitive and improvised as ever, a desperate message from a lost world. We must have been crazy to think we would find an audience for it but I'm glad we tried, one of the best things I've ever done. -SR We Have Found The New Jerusalem was recorded in a very nice studio that was part of Trinity College and was produced by Maura O'Boyle (Americhord). This time we pressed just 500 copies on CD and as I recall it sold even less than the previous one. It was released with a flurry of activity (for us) with two gigs (Dublin, Belfast) in May 2001 and coincided with 'The Slow Flash' being included on a split 7" single with Americhord on Dublin's Road-Relish label (our video got shown on TV). We split up not long after and the rest of the CDs were given away and picked up by random people in places like art galleries and internet cafes.
