Paring each ChalleNGe cadet with a caring, responsible adult mentor is a critical component of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program and important to the success of the cadet once they graduate from the residential phase. Mentors work with the cadets over the year following the 5 1/2 residential phase of the program.
Most ChalleNGe mentors are nominated by cadets at the beginning of the residential phase. Mentors are then screened, trained and appropriately matched.
