Methuselahs Dad
Genesis 5:24 King James Version 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. The phrase "walked with God" is a Hebrew idiom signifying a life of intimate devotion, fellowship, and loyalty to God. The fact that Enoch "was not" indicates that God took him directly from this life, preventing him from dying, a detail elaborated on in Hebrews 11:5, where it says, "by faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death; and he was not found, because God had taken him". In the King James Version (KJV), the phrase "Enoch walked with God" is found in Genesis 5:22 and 5:24, stating that Enoch lived with God for 300 years after begetting Methuselah, and that because he walked with God, he was taken alive into heaven without experiencing death. This account is also referenced in the New Testament, in Hebrews 11:5, which affirms that by faith, Enoch was taken so that he did not see death.
