Metrotrails hike which started on the trails of Wyomissing Park and then onto the Thun section of the Schuylkill River Trail which traces former Pennsylvania Railroad. There was a stop at the Ridgewood Winery. We got back on the trail after the winery stop at headed to Gibraltar to a side trip to Allegheny Aqueduct Park on the Schuylkill Navigation. We also stopped at Scoop Deville for some ice cream and to cool off a bit. It was a blazing hot day. Next, we crossed the Schuylkill and then picked up the Exeter River Trail west. We continued onto Neversink Mountain and went up the former trolley line, down South 9th Street and onto some more riverfront trail and historic sites before reaching Schuylkill River Trail again.
