Metro Pictures (1915), Goldwyn Pictures (1916) and Mayer Pictures (1918) were bought by Marcus Loew to form Metro Goldwyn Mayer in 1924; this was done to supply films for his theatre chain and a need to oversee his Hollywood operations. Some of their newer releases are currently distributed by United Artists Releasing. My next video will be an updated logo history on Pathé.
