THIS STUPID BASTARD. Oh, if only language like that had been allowed in the English dub. Not only is Starscream not a backstabber in this version, he's not even second-in-command! The actual title goes to a cone-headed Seeker named Thrust who has the power of invisibility and the strats of a chess-playing prince. And Ironhide immediately hates him. Maybe tripping him and stepping on him when he's invisible has something to do with it, but you can also kind of infer that Ironhide may also be motivated by jealousy. Look at the way Megatron smiles when he hears Thrust's voice. You know Ironhide would slather himself in bees and glitter glue if it would make Megatron smile like that. The English dub also adds a line where Demolishor protests that Megatron has always told him that he's second-in-command, meaning Thrust basically dethroned him just by showing up. So there's that, I guess. But let's go back for a minute and talk about Megatron and Thrust's relationship. When Devastator showed up way back in episode 14 and insulted the Destrons, Megatron was annoyed. But when Thrust does it, Megatron is totally cool with it. He even chuckles when Thrust trips Ironhide. The English dub has Megatron right out call Thrust "my dear, dear friend." Yes, Thrust and Megatron are friends, and that's as weird and terrifying as it sounds. It's clear right away to everyone that Thrust ranks leagues above the other Destron soldiers, and as the series goes on, Thrust and Megatron form their own little private conspiratorial circle where they can talk about the other soldiers behind their backs. Surely that won't backfire in the future. No, no. Clips from episode 25 of Transformers: Micron Legend, "Wise Tactician."
