MicroSMT_Frame_Build
Building the MicroSMT Lab PNPv3 Frame In this video I start on building the frame of the MicroSMT Lab PNPv3 machine. After spending a lot of time looking at various Pick and Place machines, I found this unit which appears to be the best value for money I could find. I ordered this unit with 10 auto feeders. The machine supports up to 48 auto feeders know as the Bing SMT Feeders. The way the Pick and Place machine keeps the cost down is by selling it as a kit of parts and having the builder print a number of parts for the machine. At the time of purchase the base machine was on sale for US$750, with the option with 10 feeders included being US$830. Other options are with 20 feeders for US$910 and 30 feeders for US$990 Additional feeders can be purchased for US$16 each. For deliver to Australia, there was also a shipping charge of US$170 with the order to be shipped with UPS. My order was US$830 + US$170 for a total of US$1000. Even with 2 rolls of PETG that needed to be printed, this is very good value for money. Not long after I placed the order on the evening of Friday 6th of June 2025 for the PNPv3 machine, I was contacted by MicroSMT Lab on Wednesday the 11th of June asking what mix sizes of feeders did I want, options are the 8-2/4mm size or the 12mm/16//24mm size. The next day I opted for 10 of the 8-2/4mm size, it's nice to be asked :-) On 15th of June, I received notification the order had been shipped. On the 24th of June, I received a SMS text message from UPS requesting AUD$317.38 in import fees, Note the tracking info on the UPS site does not indicate fees are due. After lodging a query with UPS, I eventually received via email that this message was correct and was from UPS (The numbers were listed as possible scammers) While working through this with UPS, I was contacted by MicroSMT Lab following up with the delivery. Can't fault MicroSMT Lab, they are pro-active. The order arrived 7th of July, delivered by StarTrack Express. The order was packed into 2 boxed that looked well sealed. Opening the boxes, everything was well packed and each box had a picking slip. I've now constructed the main frame and found that it is very solid.
