Microsoft Access - msaccess.exe process hangs
*** Be sure to look at my article as more information has been provided there since this video was published! *** It would seem that the latest update(s) have broken Access and made it so that even after you close your database it is possible that the msaccess.exe process remains running behind the scenes (commonly referred to as a hung process, hidden process, ...). Some of the symptoms being reported by users include: • Error 3014 – Cannot open any more tables. • Error 3048 – Cannot open any more databases. • Error 3045 – You attempted to open a database that is already open by user ‘Admin’ on machine ‘….’. • Inability to close Access (close button does not work) Microsoft is aware of the situation and we are all awaiting them to officially publish a 'fixes and workarounds' page on the subject and hopefully a fix is forthcoming. Also, if you do kill the msaccess.exe task forcibly, do not forget the then go and delete any associate lock files! ***** 2024-09-10 - We have a FIX!!!!
