MIDI UNSCRIPTED: Using Blooper With Pro Tools
Welcome to MIDI Unscripted. Being stuck indoors during a pandemic gives us all more time for the important things in life... like MIDI. I have always wanted to put together a video series where I can just lay it all out.... Not worry about time constraints... Not worry about making things look all slick. I decided to just turn on the camera and go. No script, no plan, just talk. In this episode, we have a double feature! First, Mark Johnston is going to show us how to set up and use Pro Tools and Blooper using a Roland UM-ONE cable. Joshua Fenner is going to show us the same, only using a Qconnect as the MIDI interface. For further details on how to cable this kind of thing up, please see the previous episode of MIDI UNSCRIPTED "How to Connect Any Kind of MIDI Device to a Chase Bliss Pedal" by clicking the link here: https://youtu.be/vQM1XgCoUxY?t=3072 You can find Mark Johnston here: Instagram.com/markjohnston And a Thermae video he produced here: https://youtu.be/W25Cn79W37o Joshua is hosting an event later today: https://www.facebook.com/events/240080833998954/?active_tab=about Video links: 0:00 Intro 0:53 Opening monologue / Mark intro 3:30 Mark Johnston using Pro Tools connected to Blooper with a UM-ONE 4:20 The parts needed for this set up 6:31 DAW settings 8:42 Blooping 10.32 Because that's what MIDI does 11:05 Joshua intro 12:13 Joshua Fenner 13:00 DAW settings 14:14 Blooping 16:03 Sharpie Time!
