This practice begins seated on the floor. The focus is on the torso and working the midsection, moving the ribs, and strengthening the core. Standing, there are several INNER leg options where you can to choose to place your foot for your Tree balance: near the ankle if you feel balance-challenged, on the calf below the knee, or on the thigh above the knee — or you can cross it into a Lotus position in front of your opposite hip — but be sure you do NOT press your foot into the inner knee! Be sure your hip stays open and your knee is directed straight toward the side throughout.
