Industrial millwright work often involves navigating heavy machinery through sensitive environments, and this project was no exception. This video documents the removal of a medium-sized dust cyclone from a second-story location featuring solid hardwood floors. Rigging and dismantling industrial equipment in such a space requires extreme precision to avoid structural or surface damage. During the process, the top section of the cyclone unexpectedly detached within the second floor, falling and striking the hardwood below with a heavy thud. Because the work area was properly staged and safety perimeters were established, the event resulted in no damage or injury, highlighting the necessity of being prepared for the "what-ifs" of heavy rigging. This footage provides a detailed look at the removal process, the mechanical behavior of vintage dust collection systems, and the reality of managing dangerous situations through professional preparation and industrial safety standards.
