Date: 2018 Supervisor: Morteza Rahbar Directors: Saeede Kalantari, Neda Adimi, Mehrzad Esmaeli Assistants: Shahab Vafi, Ali Sedgh The purpose of the mini-Fab workshop was to familiarize students with the digital fabrication process, specifically the use of wire cut tools in the architectural fabrication process. In this regard, a two-week workshop was arranged to allow students to participate in the pavilion’s research and design process. Undergraduate and graduate students took part in the workshop and were involved in all aspects of the process, including research, design, and building. They first performed minimal surface form-finding as a group, and then the best design concept was chosen to move forward with the construction process. Students then began researching the material and using wire-cutting equipment, built a few prototypes. Finally, the project’s principal shape was segmented, and construction documents for the entire project were created. A variety of sample components were cut and put together. When the appropriate findings were obtained, the major process of cutting began, and all of the pieces were cut and assembled within a few days. For the concluding session, the final shape of the minimum surface pavilion was complete.
