A Minimum Allowable Temperature (MAT) curve is a very valuable (and common) procedure for industries that operate in cold service. This has been common practice in the hydrocarbon processing industries where auto-refrigeration is a concern on equipment that has little to no information about it. INSPECT easily calculates the MAT through a range of pressures. Using the API-579 as the basis for determining the MAT you can rest assured that the MAT curve is determined correctly. Some notable value of using a MAT: - When no MDMT is available (either documented or stamped on the name plate) - Allows the mechanical department to work with the control room to provide an operating envelope. - Reduction in time used to determine these manually or outsourcing them to 3rd parties. It also establishes validation for older plants that be newly acquired. To find out more, contact Codeware: (941) 927-2670 [email protected] https://www.codeware.com
